Craft rooted in
Visva-Bharati

Sarama Tikader studied textile design at Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan — the institution founded by Rabindranath Tagore where art, nature, and daily life are inseparable. It is here that she learnt to see the loom not as a machine, but as a living conversation between human hands and thread.

Her designs honour the weavers of Bengal — from the Tant masters of Nadia to the Baluchari creators of Bishnupur — elevating their heritage while making it wearable for the modern woman. Every saree tells a story; every border carries a memory.

Sarama works directly with weaving cooperatives, ensuring fair wages and living traditions pass from one generation to the next.

What they say

★★★★★

"The Kopai Neel arrived like a poem — the weave is so precise, so full of care. You can feel Santiniketan in every thread."

Maitreyi B. Kolkata · January 2026
★★★★★

"I wore the Tant saree at my daughter's wedding. Three aunties immediately asked where it was from. Sarama's work is unforgettable."

Sumitra R. Burdwan · December 2025
★★★★★

"The Baluchari is museum-quality. Each motif in the pallu tells a story from the Mahabharata — I spent twenty minutes just studying it before draping."
